Exciting Changes for Fall 2019 First-Year Applicants

Updates for the Class of 2023

Washington University accepts either the Common Application or the Coalition Application. The Common Application is available at www.commonapp.org. The Coalition Application is available at www.coalitionforcollegeaccess.org. Both applications will be available on August 1, 2018.

Early Decision II

Fall 2019 applicants will have the opportunity to apply to our new Early Decision II round!

Supplemental Essay

Beginning with the fall 2019 application cycle, WashU will require a supplemental essay specific to your academic interest in addition to the Common Application or Coalition Application essay.

Merit Scholarships and Scholars Programs

Beginning with the fall 2019 application cycle, all applicants will automatically be considered for our divisional merit scholarships based on the supplemental essay.

Students who wish to also be considered for one of our Scholars Programs – Danforth, Ervin, or Rodriguez – must submit separate applications. Applications will be available online through the WashU Pathway after an application for admission has been processed. All materials for scholarship applications must be received by 5:00 p.m. Central time on January 2, 2019.

Financial Assistance

Applicants must submit a separate application to be considered for financial assistance based on need.
