UNDERGRADUATE ADMISSIONS at WASHINGTON UNIVERSITY in ST. LOUIS

Katharine

Introducing: Me

Hi guys!! My name is Katharine and I am a junior studying Psychology and Anthropology in the College of Arts and Sciences. It was definitely a journey getting to this point where I can actually tell people what exactly I’m studying. I came into college COMPLETELY undecided and took so many classes from Physics to Intro to Human Evolution to Microeconomics to Geology of National Parks. But I realized that between all of these random (but interesting) subjects, I was filling the rest of my time with Psych and Anthro classes. So why not major and minor in what I actually enjoy spending time learning about?

I’m originally from Westport, Connecticut but my parents and two younger sisters moved to Zurich, Switzerland about a month after I graduated high school. The ten-hour plane ride can be long, but it’s so worth it for all the traveling opportunities, swiss chocolate, cheese fondue and beautiful mountains.

At WashU, I’m mainly involved in Uncle Joe’s (a peer counseling and resource center) and greek life, but I’ve also been a Pre-Orientation leader for the Catholic Student Center, and participated in intramural soccer. Outside of that, I love running in forest park, hanging out at the coffee shops close to campus, and going to workout classes at Sumers Rec Center. But you’ll hear about all of this and more later.

In the meantime, I’m so excited to share my experiences and life at WashU! It really is my home and my friends here are like family. This is my first summer spent in St Louis, so look forward to blog posts about spontaneous adventures, surviving the summer heat, and the best place to go to get that perfect scoop of ice cream.
