Elephant Rocks State Park is close to Johnson’s Shut-Ins State Park (featured in the blog post below) and it is a beautiful place to stop on the way back to St. Louis. After climbing to the top of these massive boulders the view atop the surrounding forest is worth the drive.
Insider’s Tip: Go to Elephant Rocks State Park in the fall when all the leaves are changing colors and you will be blown away by the hidden beauty of the midwest.
Did I mention that all of the state parks in Missouri are FREE??
